“And the sun, the sun was always shining.
I close my eyes and we are there again, together
I recall the memories and we are there again, together
Forever summer with you.”
Heart On My Sleeve – Whooop…one of my favourite bands around. Their January 2011 released “Blood Is Not Thicker Than Wine” – EP was an awesome heartbreaking piece of modern screamo/post-hardcore. (also in my Best-Of-2011 – List – unfortunately the post is offline. sorry for that)
Some months later the band released a split with состояние птиц (birds state of soul) from russia which was even better than BINTTW. It was a nice progression towards the sound and groove of the EP. I mean…”Carry On Carry Me” just killed everything.
Now the band from Stockholm (consisting of former members of Followed By 37 Seconds of Happiness and The Hope & The Failure) returns with a third big boom. “Stand-by, We’re Going In For Life” is more “epic-screamo” than ever before. Her voice (so much love), the guitars and the drums are getting more and more intense…everytime you’ll listen to it. It’s just fast on the one hand, calm on the other hand…moving, dreamy, pensive, desperate…Everything just perfectly fits and I couldn’t even highlight one single song because they are all great and proof the exceptional position of this band in the “scene”.
They are no longer a good kept secret.
I fucking love them, hope you’ll do the same.
“Can you hear me scream? Can you see me reaching out to you?”
Oh and the artwork just rules.
