“I must say one thing. I must say emocore must be the stupidest f$%ing thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life. But just in case you are wondering, I read in my Thrasher the other day, that in fact, what my band (Embrace) along with other bands (Rites Of Spring, Beefeater, etc) in this city (Washington DC) are playing is emocore. I’m thinking Emo Phillips, the comedian (look it up if you don’t know who he is), emocore? Emotional hardcore?? As if hardcore wasn’t emotional to begin with. Anyway, it’s caca. I hate to say it but you can only hold your silence for too long about this stupid sh#$t.” (Ian MacKaye of Embrace/Minor Threat – 1986)
Most beautiful emotive hardcore songs – hey folks…I was asked to do a Indie/Emocore – Special, which I wanted to do anyway. And it was kinda tough.
Oldschool, Newschool, Fake, Indie, Core…call it whatever you want and I know the scene-police is watchin’ but these are just a couple of songs that I like and I hope you’ll do the same.
It’s pretty much an overview of a genre that changed a lot over the past years. Anyway the songs are in no particular order.
And…stupidest thing ever? Well, I don’t really care…it’s the same with almost every genre.
Feel free to post a comment with your favourite songs or leave a hate message. Oh and I think I’ve forgotten a bunch of great songs…sry for that.
Stay rad.

Voll unfair, ey. Hipsterkacke! Früher hätte das sowas nich gegeben. Echte 90s Kids liken diesen Comment. xoxo
like (80s Kid)
My Chemical Romance: vollste Zustimmung!

thursday – standing on the edge of summer
hot water music – minno
naiad – in this moment
captain planet – blattsport
nice :)
