Muscle and Bone - s/t

“I can’t take the sound that it makes. Be proud of the way you stand there with my things. Cling to those with the saddest strings, and never find your solace in me. I’ve got medicine to keep me fed.”

Muscle and Bone – Apposite to the “I woke up this morning with a piece of past caught in my throat” – most beautiful emotive hardcore songs – personal list (all generations, all schools) post…I will recommend you an awesome relatively new 90′s emo/indie band from North Carolina.

Adam Gross, Chris French (from Joie De Vivre), Ryan Hoots, Rob Travis started this band almost 5 months ago and they really remind of the legendary American Football. The guitars, the drums…it’s like a cool modern version of AF or stuff like Rainer Maria, Jets to Brazil or even The Promise Ring.

“No return” starts very calm with “Standing so close to me that I couldn’t say where I’d rather be.”…and right after this 28 seconds I knew that this self-titled ep is going to be more than just another average stuff.

“Lamp Posts” is the “Never Meant” of the release…”I’d take your lips over anybody else’s lips. Because I wasted all my young breath standing in the doorway singing, ‘I’ve found no peace in my heart along the way. I have no place in my heart for you to stay.‘”.

“Bones & Muscles” and “To Fix the Past, You Must Destroy the Future” (with an great female-guest-part) are another decent songs and no filler.

All in all I think my favourite track is “When I Loved You”…sad, desperate and emotional as hell.

I don’t think they’ll be unsigned for long…this is just too good to be unheard.

Check them out…worth every second.

Atlantic Pacific, Further Seems Forever, Mineral
