Teen Suicide – Sometimes bands just blow you away and you don’t even know why. Been listening to “I will be my own hell because there is a devil inside my body” almost the whole day and I’m really kinda fascinated. Teen Suicide is a 3-piece band from Maryland and they play a mix of lo-fi emo punk, shoegaze and garage.
As to the sound…minimal, sober, very distorted and harsh but at the same time poppy, “highly emotional” and somehow catchy and dreamy…just incredible. The whole album feels like a autumn train ride, where you staring out of the window and watch this for forever. Amazing.
My favourite songs are “dan collins vs. the maryland judicial system” and “the same things happening to me all the time, even in my dreams”. Well “grim reaper” is a highlight too.

i’ve got so many better things that i wanna do”
Lyrically it’s hella sad and yeah the band name fits somehow very well. Sometimes it reminds me of a crude blend of American Football and Joyce Manor haha.
