Been listening to “We Built Walls So Our Hearts Couldn’t Cross” all day long, over and over and over again.
3 guys from Baltimore (formed in 2010) playing a furious blend of post-hardcore, emotive hardcore and modern epic screamo.
The record all in all is very despairing and intense. The first song 18-63…starts with a total blast…”I’m losing myself. I haven’t seen the sun since I can remember.” and it’s like a résumé related to the whole album. Brandon’s vigorous and fierce screaming seems to explode deep in my heart/ripping everything apart.
“And I’m still waiting for the clots to heal my chest and my heart but my breathing is labored and shallow at best.”
Every songs seems to digging deeper and deeper…it’s a wandering…a tough, sincere and revealing one.
“And I’m giving back my heart it’s empy and hardened from the trials of life. I’m worried sick I’ll have the chance to be something only to watch myself fall again. And I’m ashamed of who I’ve become, beaten and frayed from nothing at all.
Like so many times before, I don’t know what to say anymore because the feeling I have right now is just overwhelming and I’m kinda speechless…I’m sorry for that.
