Glummer "Inertia" Exclusive Stream

Been a huge fan of emo/alternative ever since - but haven't posted an emo related band in a while - so I'm even more stoked now to present you the full stream for the debut EP of Glummer from Gotheburg, Sweden called "Inertia".

Some of you might now the brainchild behind the awesome melodic band - Anton Hedlund - who played already swedish powerhouses like Murderofcrows, Oak and Disavow. 

Lyrically, Inertia is Anton reflecting on patterns recognised in himself and society - how fearing loss takes form in everyday life and how frustration with oneself and one's surroundings often gets in the way of better things.

The album was recorded at Studio Ruinen (Gothenburg, Sweden) in July 2021, and at Stray Dogs HQ (Berlin, Germany) in October 2021. Everything mixed by Elias Straat (who also did Artwork and Design)  and mastered by Bob Cooper at Chairworks Studio.

"Inertia" will be released digital and on limited white cassette (by lovely No Heroes Records from Berlin) on friday.

 

dare

dare was a very short lived five piece all-flinta diy screamo/emo band from berlin. they made a very nice rough two song demo at the beginning of 2016, played I think two shows and then - that was it - pretty punk to be honest. lyrics were by the way so good:

"und ich bin mir nicht sicher ob das nur die lüftung ist oder doch das meer"

OK Boomer

Ok Boomer are finally back. The band from Trujillo/Perú astounded me some months ago with their first single Gira Soles - which was some awesome fresh midwest-emo/screamo/post-rock blend. "Flora de la Estepa Extinta" is the new EP and it just hits with the same perfect vibe with which they started everything. Peru has such a nice diy emo/screamo scene - with bands like LÖRI, Maria, Fiesta Bizarra etc. - Ok Boomer is no exception at all - what a great band.

Ramona Forever

Ramona Forever was an very short-lived five piece emocore band from Blacksburg, USA. They released one demo and one split with A Thousand Never Enough in 1999 - and unfortunately that was it. Super good stuff and if you dig bands like Ribbon Fix, Broken Hearts Are Blue or Friends Unseen - that’s definitely something for you.

Gabriela Jung

Gabriela Jung is a new screamo four piece band from Trujillo, Peru. The first demo is super nice - harsh, lo-fi and with a hint of emogaze. I really enjoyed these debut songs and can't wait for an EP or LP. Knew I should've have waited with my End Of The Year List damn.

Liberdade Após a Raiva

Liberdade Após a Raiva was a six piece screamo/emo band hailing from Curitiba in Brazil. Heartbreaking, rough and short songs - that are really catchy also - highly recommendable stuff. After disbanding in 2008 the Members went to form MOTIM and Vejo Você Conversando Comigo.

wherebirdsmeettodie always amazed me. They have/had a great name, great lyrics and stunningly emotional catchy screamo songs. The four piece performed between 2013 & 2014 - and according to their facebook they might be doing something in the future again. "I'm Alone in This" is def a decade highlight for me.
