DROUGHT

Get ready for a new emotional heavy-weight from California.
I'm so beyond hyped to premiere the first song of the debut EP by five piece post-hardcore/screamo outfit Drought (members of Obsolete Man, Plush Palace, and ex-Caulfield).

"Oh, Javelin!" sounds so powerful and moving - somewhere between maybe PBTT, La Dispute and In The Wake of Giants. It got everything from post-hardcore/rock, screamo, emocore, punk - and has such an incredible built-up and gut-wrenching lyrics. It's deep, it's long - and damn brilliant. I literally can't wait to the hear the two other songs from the EP - which is gonna be released on June 23rd, 2023.

They also gonna play some shows around then - if you are in that area, make sure to catch them.
"Are we so temporary just taking what we carry - With every thread a different hue - But stitched together, they disappear - Fading in and out of view - Wake up! Wake up! - I can't recall the sun as every day continues dimming - The years keep passing by unspooling on a further line - Unafraid and just beginning"

Glummer "Inertia" Exclusive Stream

Been a huge fan of emo/alternative ever since - but haven't posted an emo related band in a while - so I'm even more stoked now to present you the full stream for the debut EP of Glummer from Gotheburg, Sweden called "Inertia".

Some of you might now the brainchild behind the awesome melodic band - Anton Hedlund - who played already swedish powerhouses like Murderofcrows, Oak and Disavow.

Lyrically, Inertia is Anton reflecting on patterns recognised in himself and society - how fearing loss takes form in everyday life and how frustration with oneself and one's surroundings often gets in the way of better things.

The album was recorded at Studio Ruinen (Gothenburg, Sweden) in July 2021, and at Stray Dogs HQ (Berlin, Germany) in October 2021. Everything mixed by Elias Straat (who also did Artwork and Design)  and mastered by Bob Cooper at Chairworks Studio.

"Inertia" will be released digital and on limited white cassette (by lovely No Heroes Records from Berlin) on friday.

A.S.T.R.O

A.S.T.R.O was a short-lived five piece screamo band hailing from Paris.

Between 2007 and 2009 they released two EP on CD - "The Shaped Lines" and "FROM MY WINDOW". Just based on the last.fm listen-sessions, discogs numbers etc - I think A.S.T.R.O were/are highly under the radar.

Really dig them - and they definitely inspired by crust and post-hardcore stuff - which makes the whole sound very interesting. "Modernism" and "Joining fate" are screamo hits. Oh and I love the guitar work ✨

Volta

Volta are a four piece screamo/post-hardcore band from Italy. Their first release "ɒ" caught my attention back in 2013 - 6 tracks of awesome emotional screamo. In 2017 they released "Remap" - a full-length with 16 songs - and currently they are writing new stuff, stay tuned for that. Here you can find an interview with the band - https://www.inkoma.com/k/4720/

Isodora Crane

Isodora Crane was a short-lived screamo/violence band from California. They released in 2002 one outstanding hard, grindy, emotional screamo ep called "The Impossibilities Of A Static Universe" - and then turned later to experiment with indie, emo, post-rock. The first EP remains as a legendary "obscure" a++ blend of the best the genre had to provide.
