Ordara are hailing from Donostia San Sebastian in Spain and play highly emotional screamo. Some of you may know them already from the last MTS Screamo Sampler. The first official release is a stunner - screamo in its best form and for every single person that likes the genre.

Ramona Forever

Ramona Forever was an very short-lived five piece emocore band from Blacksburg, USA. They released one demo and one split with A Thousand Never Enough in 1999 - and unfortunately that was it. Super good stuff and if you dig bands like Ribbon Fix, Broken Hearts Are Blue or Friends Unseen - that’s definitely something for you.

Gabriela Jung

Gabriela Jung is a new screamo four piece band from Trujillo, Peru. The first demo is super nice - harsh, lo-fi and with a hint of emogaze. I really enjoyed these debut songs and can't wait for an EP or LP. Knew I should've have waited with my End Of The Year List damn.

Liberdade Após a Raiva was a six piece screamo/emo band hailing from Curitiba in Brazil. Heartbreaking, rough and short songs - that are really catchy also - highly recommendable stuff. After disbanding in 2008 the Members went to form MOTIM and Vejo Você Conversando Comigo.

Volta are a four piece screamo/post-hardcore band from Italy. Their first release "ɒ" caught my attention back in 2013 - 6 tracks of awesome emotional screamo. In 2017 they released "Remap" - a full-length with 16 songs - and currently they are writing new stuff, stay tuned for that. La Petite Mort / Little Death

Something special today - one of my fav new bands covered one of my fav songs ever - "The Water Vs. The Anchor" by the legendary On The Might Of Princes. I was speechless when they showed me the song and the cover artwork - it was so ridiculously good and funny. You can feel that they love that song so much in every single second.

Message from the Band

"Hey Friends, we recorded a small cover of a wonderfull song and this is the short story behind it.

It all startet at the end of 2017 when our friends in  Form und Leere gave us the advice that there will be a sampler collected with bands that cover their favourite Screamo songs. The sampler was planned by the lovely Jacopo of OJNE. 

After we recorded the Song we realized, we were the only band that actually recorded something 😃 

So after all these years the one song sampler will finally be released 😃

Thanks to Alex of miss the stars who was diretly responsible for this project and helped us

to show u what we have done!  

For me (Steffen) On the might of princes is one of the Bands that changed my world completly.

My good friend Klaus of Trip Fontaine showed them to me when I was 13, I guess. 

After over 14 years I still listen to Sirens and it made me loving songs with different parts and harmonies with screams and all this kind of stuff in this music world.

They even played a small show in Rodgau which is crazy hahah. 

It was also the first time I got in touch with the DIY scene. So I would write them on myspace to ask them about their amps and stuff. AND THEY ANSWERED.

The Song was fun to play for all of us and we record it with our close friend Felix krois who also mixed and mastered it ❤.

Not the biggest project but it means a lot to us - and yes, it is nice after an album to see and feel where one of your biggest influences came from and try to honor this as a band.

Ostende was a four piece screamo band from Buenos Aires. Members played in Arde Hollywood before. Rough, energetic, chaotic - just incredible. Legendary in the scene over there - they killed it between 2010 and 2017.

A Besta Deve Morrer

Short-lived screamo band from Curitiba/Brazil. "Não se pode evitar certas fatalidades pois o que comanda a vida não é o homem mas um acaso desesperadamente cruel que te move com todas as forças para longe de onde você queira estar" from 2011 was their only release. The songs have a big crust/dark hardcore/powerviolence vibe which is amazing.

Pontos Vitais

 

Pontos Vitais was a screamo band from Salvador, Brazil. Unfortunately there are no further information about this band around on the internet. I really dig the tunes - raw, intense and super emotional. If you like Daïtro, Belle Époque or Ekkaia - you probably gonna enjoy it.

We'll Dance Like Ghosts on Rooftops

We'll Dance Like Ghosts on Rooftops was a short-lived (2006 - 2008) screamo band from Cape Coral, FL. Raw, intense and for fans of Tunes for Bears to Dance To, Et Tu Brute etc.. Unfortunately only seven songs were recorded mostly at various house shows and long-dead venues - "Cake Soda" released them all on a discography tape.

Saddest Day

 

Saddest Day was one of the first screamo/emotive hardcore bands from brasil. They released their astounding debut "Confuso.Certo.Bonito.Complicado.Simples.Feio." in 1999. Leandro reminded me on this great jam - and also has sent me a lot of lesser unknown screamo bands from brasil (thanks again). So watch out for more.

Hiretsukan

 

Hiretsukan was a political screamo band hailing from New York. "End States" their only LP is still one of my fav screamo records. Forever stoked about the intensity of that band. Would've love to see them live. Members also played in Snollygoster and Forgetters.

Isodora Crane

Isodora Crane was a short-lived screamo/violence band from California. They released in 2002 one outstanding hard, grindy, emotional screamo ep called "The Impossibilities Of A Static Universe" - and then turned later to experiment with indie, emo, post-rock. The first EP remains as a legendary "obscure" a++ blend of the best the genre had to provide.

Ten Grand

Ten Grand (The Vidablue) was a legendary screamo band from the US. Active between 1998 and 2003 they released two records and a handful of singles, eps and splits (incl. The Khayembii Communiqué, Quatro) Still have the feeling they are super underrated.

Mádu

 

Mádu was a short-lived four piece screamo band from Ukraine. Had the pleasure to release one of their tracks back in the days on a sampler called "Invasion USSR Сompilation". "Уходим мы все незаметно​.​.​.​/​We're leaving gradually​.​.​." was their only record.

3 Segundos Antes da Queda (3 Seconds Before the Fall) was an short-lived four piece screamo band from Brasil. "3 SADQ" was released around 2008/09 and contains 12 songs. Enjoy - the were utterly amazing.

Rant was a short-lived four piece hardcore/crust/emoviolence band from Trier/Germany. "Untitled" - their only release - was a six song heavy punk record. Members play in MIAMI DEATH 2, Voyta, HEY RUIN or Cool Living. Check them out if you have time - all super good.

wherebirdsmeettodie always amazed me. They have/had a great name, great lyrics and stunningly emotional catchy screamo songs. The four piece performed between 2013 & 2014 - and according to their facebook they might be doing something in the future again. "I'm Alone in This" is def a decade highlight for me.

Vorwärts Schöner Weltenkotzer was a short-lived four piece screamo band from germany. Always super underrated in my opinion. The name will be forever in the "top ten band names of all time". Members went on playing in for example Resurrectionists & Saligia. So great.

Etai Keskiki was a anarchafeminist experimental screamo/hardcore/no-wave band from UK. The four piece was around from 2008 till the end of 2013 and left us with five awesome releases, incl. two split records with Amorous Dialogues & Castrato Attack Group.

Todos Caerán

Todos Caerán was a five piece screamo band from Edmonton, Alberta around 2010 to 2014. They made a lot in these years and released like 2 LPs, 1 EP and several splits with bands such as Book Of Caverns, Mahria or Gumilinski. The last record was called "Town of Cats" - and that itself is already incredible. Was one hell of a stunning band. FFO: Funeral Diner etc.

Francis Brady

Francis Brady for me was always one of the most important bands in screamo - and personally I think they never got the recognition they deserved. Just take "November und Wir Fliehen" - its an emotional masterpiece. Damn, these songs destroy me literally every time in the best possible way. So if by accident one of the members reads this - thank you for everything.

Ma Catharsis Et La Mort

Ma Catharsis Et La Mort was a short-lived epic (post) screamo band from Puerto Rico. In 2012 they released with "Extended Pain" one of the best records of the year. After that unfortunately only one split with Kitsch and one sampler contribution followed (My Endless Minutes I). Astoundingly great band.

King's Girls

King's Girls were a four piece screamo/violence band from halifax, nova scotia / canada. Unfortunately they only recorded two releases - I think "Numbers" from 2013 made to the top of my end of the year list. They made unbelievable impressive short screamo songs. Gosh I miss them.

Petethepiratesquid was a four piece screamo/post-hardcore band from berlin. They released 9 records including some splits, inter alia with Dodewaard, Kias Fansuri, Shokei or Radio Burroughs. Great and important for the scene here.

Members played also in it.is.imperative, The Dropout Patrol, Ex Best Friends, and Magic Of The Rainbow.

Dream Caste was a short-lived (2013 - 2014) four piece screamo band with members of Heritage Unit, Ten Thousand Leagues and Winter Break from California. Their only release "A Calmer Room" is a very emotional and intense blend of screamo, emo and punk.

All My Wishes Were Thrown Down a Well and Should Die There were an A++ four piece screamo band from Cali. They put out six releases from October of 2014 till October of 2015. Loved the name, the tunes, the artworks - everything fitted. They were damn amazing.

Jernigan

 

Jernigan was a hardcore band from germany in the style of Loxiran. Found a three song mini-ep called "Blindtext" that I uploaded like eight years ago. The songs are awesome but it was actually kinda tricky to find any informations about them in the big main sources like last.fm, discogs or rateyourmusic. Anyway - if you dig northcore/bremencore or just hardcore in general - Jernigan are definitely worth a listen.

"Great DIY-gem with some emo-hardcore skramzy stuff!

A CDr with five tracks on it. The cd (mine marked 32?) comes in a small brown paper bag acting as sleeve/cover.

Small strip of tape with bands name on the front. Not sure if this is a demo or s-t or something else.. but think s-t works..

Two inserts: Number one with short information about the band, tracklist and some shoutouts. 

Second one is called "lyndixon's songbook" and seems to contain some (?) of the lyrics. 

Not sure if there's been a misprint and/or if it's intended/missing a page. "of a fire on the moon" on two pages for example.
